What Is the Average Home Price in San Antonio, Texas?

By Rise Property Group · Rise Property Group · Updated October 2026

San Antonio's median sale price was about $316,850 in March 2026 using SABOR figures, and $260,000 using Redfin's. Same city, same month, two honest answers.

The short answer

SABOR data reported by Harbert Group showed a $316,850 median and a $373,839 average sale price in March 2026, with 5.76 months of supply and 99 average days on market. Redfin showed $260,000 and Realtor.com showed a median list price near $289,945 in April.

Why do San Antonio home price numbers disagree?

Each source counts differently. SABOR covers the metro area through the local MLS. Redfin may use a different geography and period. A median list price counts homes still waiting for a buyer, while a median sale price counts closed deals.

The average is also higher than the median because expensive homes pull it up. The $373,839 average sat well above the $316,850 median in March.

What does the San Antonio market look like right now?

SABOR figures in that same report showed 15,900 active listings, up 9 percent from a year earlier, and 3,100 closed sales. Homes took about 99 days on average to sell and closed near 92.8 percent of list price. About 23.8 percent of listings had a price cut in April, per Realtor.com.

That's a market with room to negotiate.

How do San Antonio prices compare with Austin and the Hill Country?

The same report listed Austin near $470,000 and Boerne's active listing median near $649,000 in May. New Braunfels ran roughly $307,000 to $345,000 in spring 2026. San Antonio sits at the affordable end of that map.
