One of the things people consistently say after their first year in Boerne is that there is always something going on. Not just occasionally — consistently, season after season. Here is the annual community calendar that residents build their year around.

Spring: Wildflowers and Outdoor Season

Spring in Boerne is wildflower season — the Texas Hill Country's annual blanketing of Indian paintbrush, bluebonnets, and winecups that draws visitors from across the state and that residents who have lived here for decades never stop appreciating. The Cibolo Nature Center's trails are at their most beautiful from late February through April, and the Moondance concert series at the Cibolo begins when warm weather returns, running monthly on Saturday evenings through the spring and summer. The Boerne Farmers Market resumes regular Tuesday evening hours at 402 East Blanco Road. Spring also brings Boerne Market Days back to peak attendance at Main Plaza.

June: Berges Fest

Berges Fest — held each June — is Boerne's signature German heritage celebration, honoring the city's 1849 founding and the German-American culture that shaped its character. The festival features traditional German food, live music, polka dancing, family activities, and the kind of community gathering that reflects exactly what makes Boerne different from a generic suburb. Berges Fest has run annually for decades and is one of the events that long-term residents most frequently cite when describing what makes this community feel like a real place rather than just a collection of subdivisions.

Summer: Outdoor Living and Community Events

Summer brings the Guadalupe River to full recreation capacity — tubers, kayakers, swimmers, and anglers filling the river corridor north of Boerne through July and August. The Cibolo's Moondance series continues monthly. The AllEvents.in calendar for Boerne shows a consistent summer schedule of outdoor concerts, community gatherings, and events through the warm months. The Old West Christmas Light Fest at Enchanted Springs Ranch runs in December but the ranch draws visitors for events and activities year-round.

Fall: Hill Country Season

Fall in Boerne — October through early November — is live oak season, when the Hill Country's distinctive trees take on color against the limestone ridges and clear blue skies. Boerne Market Days reaches peak vendor attendance as the holiday shopping season approaches. Barktoberfest in October at Boerne Main Square Plaza is one of the community's beloved pet-friendly community events. The November Holiday Gift Market at Market Days draws approximately 4,500 attendees, kicking off the holiday season per Events Off Main.

December: The Most Wonderful Month in Boerne

Boerne's December event calendar is exceptional by any measure. Dickens on Main — held on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving — transforms the Hill Country Mile into a vintage holiday wonderland complete with live entertainment, food, children's activities, snow on Main Street, and the official tree lighting at Main Plaza, per the City of Boerne's official event description. It has been running since 2000 and has grown into one of the most anticipated events in the Hill Country. Weihnachts Weekend follows on the first Friday and Saturday of December, featuring the 39th annual Weihnachts Parade with nearly 100 floats, the Wassail Walk and Caroling Contest, and the Stocking Stroll per holidaysinboerne.com. Kinder Fest Weekend in mid-December adds a Santa Scavenger Hunt, Ice Carving Show, and Cookie Crawl for families. For residents who love a Christmas community that actually feels like Christmas, Boerne in December is one of the most genuinely special small-city holiday experiences in Texas.
